The idea is to "queue up" login items and launch them conscutively rather than all at once.Property theURL : ""tell application "Safari" set theURL to URL of current tab of window 1end tellif appIsRunning("Google Chrome") then tell application "Google Chrome" if (count of (every window where visible is true)) is greater than 0 then - running with a visible window, ready for new tab else - running but no visible window, so create one make new window end if end tellelse tell application "Google Chrome" - chrome app not running, so start it do shell script "open -a \"Google Chrome\"" end tellend if- now that we have made sure chrome is running and has a visible- window create a new tab in that window- and activate it to bring to the fronttell application "Google Chrome" tell front window make new tab with properties end tell activateend tellon appIsRunning(appName) tell application "System Events" to (name of processes) contains appNameend appIsRunning He got the original idea from another AppleScript to open Chrome via TextExpander, created by Tim Arnold. The original idea came from Mac OS X Hints. This script is an attempt to speed up login times. I assumed it's just a nice script to share. I've added a script that is not meant to be used with LaunchBar, Alfred or any other launcher. Delete the LaunchBar application file (wherever you’ve installed it, usually in your Applications folder). Please note: Deactivate all Actions that you don't use in the Index in LaunchBar! Especially those in _Archive! If LaunchBar is currently running, quit it.I can't remember from the top of my head what else I changed, but I tried to make this repository leaner and cleaner.I've tried to find scripts that don't work anymore (Tweetly Its dependency SuperTweet has ceased operation).Feel free to discuss with me whether the changes I made apply to "most" other folks as well and I'll change my opinion. Moved everything that I personally found unnecessary and added bloat to _Archive."Most" means that scripts coming from third parties, especially from other projects that are merely linked to this repo as submodules, retain their own notification dependencies, i.e. Most scripts now use Notification Center instead of Growl. There are still some General Scripts in here which you can experiment with. I maintain some script in Keyboard Maestro and some in LaunchBar. I intended this repository to be one scripters generally can refer to but it doesn't work out for me. Hit command-spacebar and start typing the first few letters of whatever you want LaunchBar lists the choices that match and you just hit the return key to open or go to that item. I removed all mentions of Keyboard Maestro. LaunchBar is a great ‘mouse-free’ utility for instantly getting to files, folders, URLs, music, addresses, and just about anything else on your Mac.The biggest change this repository has received so far: all LaunchBar scripts are now Actions. All scripts linked that way will appear in LaunchBar's index. This will create aliases to the original files which will be recognized by LaunchBar. Feel free to send me a pull request of this readme file! LaunchBarĭrag the actions/scripts that you want to use to ~/Library/Application Support/LaunchBar/Actions/ while holding down ⌘ and ⌥. (This is obviously not too useful in and of itself, Im just trying to make the feature work so I can use it. I want to make a launchbar script that displays in a dialog the path of a file or folder thats chosen in the first pane. I'll provide instructions for the ones that I use, you can hopefully figure out how this works with your launcher. launchbar:A script that returns the path a folder thats dropped on it. To install I created separate folders for each of them. This repo contains various scripts for LaunchBar.
